*Best Tip for bride/groom/couple: Practice makes perfect! I HIGHLY recommend scheduling a trial session. The Wedding day is not the day to try a hair and make up that you have never tried before! The trial session is the only way that you will be comfortable knowing exactly how your hair and make up will look and hold up throughout the entire day. Hair and make up styles may look beautiful on the Bride in a magazine, but it is important to see how the styles look on you. During the trial session bring in hair and make up visuals along with any hair pieces and jewelry. Make sure you or your stylist gets a photo of you on camera. Make up captured on camera vs. in person is completely different. So when do you want to schedule your trial session?
*What excites you? I meet with Brides! Their energy and excitement is contagious!
*Do you have a dog or pets?: 3 Puppies, well one is a shitzu/silky terier that is over a year old but she will always be a pup! And the other 2 are about 5 months and are brother and sister shitzu.
*Spare time- how do you spend it? : At home with my 3 pups! Its hard to leave the house everyday because they are sooooo adorable! Puppy love!!!
*Employees…?: I have 5 Independent Contractors. 3 of them have been with me for over 2 years and have taken my make up classes, so I know their style and love their personable personality!
*What do YOUR clients have in common?: desire in looking like their selves but a more beautiful version
*What influenced or inspired you in your decision to do your profession? I have a degree in fashion designing and I produced many fashion shows. In the beginning of my fashion venture, I had Stylist do my hair and make up for my models that were modeling my designs. I would have to explain to them what I wanted done, then I just thought to myself, why don’t I just learn how to do it myself!
*What are your business hours: We offer hair and make up at our studio by appointment, but for convenience we normally travel out to our clients.
* What trends are you seeing in your field? Right now the hair style is unstructured or some will say “beachy hair” Waves not curls, all down or half up half down. My Brides are opting to add fresh flowers in their hair vs. a tiara and or veil.
* Who is your professional hero (whose work do most admire – this can be ANYBODY or ANY COMPANY) in your industry? This may sound a bit egotistical, but I admire the fact that I set goals and try my best to accomplish them. I have a never ending list and limits that pushes me to learn more and grow from experiences. Honestly I believe its my parents who I admire and for always supporting anything and everything I do! My dad is a hard worker and before he retired from being the head electrician of the state, he was awarded for never taking off or missing a day for his over 30 years on the job. Thats where my work ethic comes from!
*If your company were a candy bar what candy bar would it be and why? Almond Roca, there is more than meets they eye after you unwrap it. A lot of my clients are so interested to learn that we work on many magazines, film sets, special effects and celebrities besides Weddings. They always want the inside scoops about a certain celebity I have worked with, but sorry…my lips are sealed!
