*Best Tip for bride/groom/couple: Practice makes perfect! I HIGHLY recommend scheduling a trial session. The Wedding day is not the day to try a hair and make up that you have never tried before! The trial session is the only way that you will be comfortable knowing exactly how your hair and make up will look and hold up throughout the entire day. Hair and make up styles may look beautiful on the Bride in a magazine, but it is important to see how the styles look on you. During the trial session bring in hair and make up visuals along with any hair pieces and jewelry. Make sure you or your stylist gets a photo of you on camera. Make up captured on camera vs. in person is completely different. So when do you want to schedule your trial session? 

*What excites you? I meet with Brides! Their energy and excitement is contagious! 

*Do you have a dog or pets?: 3 Puppies, well one is a shitzu/silky terier that is over a year old but she will always be a pup! And the other 2 are about 5 months and are brother and sister shitzu.

*Spare time- how do you spend it? : At home with my 3 pups! Its hard to leave the house everyday because they are sooooo adorable! Puppy love!!! 

*Employees…?: I have 5 Independent Contractors. 3 of them have been with me for over 2 years and have taken my make up classes, so I know their style and love their personable personality!

*What do YOUR clients have in common?: desire in looking like their selves but a more beautiful version  

*What influenced or inspired you in your decision to do your profession? I have a degree in fashion designing and I produced many fashion shows. In the beginning of my fashion venture, I had Stylist do my hair and make up for my models that were modeling my designs. I would have to explain to them what I wanted done, then I just thought to myself, why don’t I just learn how to do it myself! 

*What are your business hours: We offer hair and make up at our studio by appointment, but for convenience we normally travel out to our clients.

* What trends are you seeing in your field? Right now the hair style is unstructured or some will say “beachy hair” Waves not curls, all down or half up half down. My Brides are opting to add fresh flowers in their hair vs. a tiara and or veil. 

* Who is your professional hero (whose work do most admire – this can be ANYBODY or ANY COMPANY) in your industry? This may sound a bit egotistical, but I admire the fact that I set goals and try my best to accomplish them. I have a never ending list and limits that pushes me to learn more and grow from experiences. Honestly I believe its my parents who I admire and for always supporting anything and everything I do! My dad is a hard worker and before he retired from being the head electrician of the state, he was awarded for never taking off or missing a day for his over 30 years on the job. Thats where my work ethic comes from!

*If your company were a candy bar what candy bar would it be and why? Almond Roca, there is more than meets they eye after you unwrap it. A lot of my clients are so interested to learn that we work on many magazines, film sets, special effects and celebrities besides Weddings. They always want the inside scoops about a certain celebity I have worked with, but sorry…my lips are sealed!

A Boudoir photo shoot is a very private, very professional, sexy, glamorous, tasteful photo shoot of the beautiful woman you are or want to be. It’s a well-deserved gift for your significant other or for yourself!  It could be a gift for your husband “for his eyes only” to be given on the day before or the Wedding day, an anniversary gift, an ego-booster, or just because its something you have always wanted to do but was to shy to do it!  You only live once so, capture your sexy self!

Where?

At Kris Labang and Flaunts Professional Make Over and Photo Studio located at 850 Kawaiahao Street Suite 607.  The creative combination and fun personality of owners Kris Labang and Christine Gardner will ensure that you are comfortable and capture your most beautiful self!  We have no limits and can create or re-create anything!

What if I’m uncomfortable and don’t know how to pose?

Don’t worry!  We’ll pose you!  But to make the photo shoot poses look more comfortable and smoother, we suggest you PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE!!!  Did you know that even top models spend time practicing poses and expressions in the mirror.  How does your face feel when you smile, laugh or pout?  Well, you will if you practice!  How does your body feel when it is posed in an attractive and sexy way?  (Actually the honest answer to that is, that the best poses are the ones that feel the most uncomfortable).  Visuals are helpful!  Look through magazines for poses that you like and here we go again…PRACTICE!

What is the process of booking the photo shoot?

We suggest booking the photo shoot at least a month to 2 months before you will need the gift.  You need to allow CD process time and take into consideration of any printing lead-time.  If you would like to meet in person for a 20-minute consultation to chat about what you would like to do give us a call at 808.955.7434 and we can arrange that for you. There is a 50% non-refundable deposit to secure a photo shoot appointment, along with a completed service agreement.  The final balance will be due before or on the day of the shoot date. 

Once we receive the deposit and agreement, we will mail or email the countersigned copy back to you for your records, along with a checklist of how to prepare for the photo shoot.  The checklist will include the list of suggestions when getting your garments together for the shoot, hair, make up and skin prep and what to bring. 

What to wear?

Once the service agreement and deposit are received, we will mail the checklist of what to wear and bring.  The garment choice is totally up to you!  Bring everything, nothing at all, your 

significant others clothes, accessories, sexy shoes, etc.  Anything goes in creating the overall look that you want to achieve.  If you are doing our most popular package of 2 looks, plan on bringing 3 to 4 outfits so you have different choices just in case something doesn’t look good with the overall look of the photo set.

What happens after the Photo shoot?

After the photo shoot session, it will take about a Week to a Week in a half to process all of the images to upload to a CD.  Feel free to print of the images for your personal use, or for an additional fee, we will be offering add-ons such as albums, pillowcases, enlargements and photo retouching. 

Is there a Cancellation Fee?

The deposit to make the photo shoot appointment is non-refundable.  If the photo shoot is cancelled for any reason by you (the client) there will be no refund given.

We will make this a fun experience!!!

Wouldn’t it be nice and stress-free to wake up on the day of your Wedding and sit in the styling chair knowing that you will look your most beautiful!  Your Wedding day is not the day to try a hair or make up style that you have never seen on you before.  

We highly recommend scheduling a trial session!  The trial session is the only way that you will be comfortable knowing how your hair and make up will look and hold up throughout the entire day.  

~We suggest bringing in hair and make up visuals of the styles that you would like to try along with any hair pieces and jewelry.  
~Make up appears completely different in camera vs. in person.  To see the difference, Flaunt Artists will take and digital photo after the trial session and review the look with you.  
~Remember to wear white or a similar color top and neckline to your Wedding dress to get the full visual effect during the trial session.

As of February 14, 2009 we will be offering an in studio styling option with the same quality of styling with unbelievable Wedding day hair and make up styling fees for the budget conscious Brides.  Get your hair and make up styled at our FLAUNT studio to receive the following styling fees.  Secure services by May 30, 2009 to take advantage of this in studio styling promotion!

We realize that in this economical times that Brides have to sometimes sacrifices not hiring a professional hair and make up Artist. This may lead to disappointment when they get their photos back on their Wedding day looking washed out or just not the most beautiful.

Your hair and make up make up application needs to be picture perfect.
Application is different from everyday make up. What the camera captures and what the eye sees in person is two totally different views. You want to look back at the photos looking at your most beautiful self!
